Upper Blepharoplasty

This is a surgical procedure to improve the visible signs of aging in the upper eyelids — sagging skin, folds and wrinkles, and bulging fat pockets. Upper blepharoplasty removes excess skin, hypertrophic orbicularis muscle and the underlying fat pockets. The scars are hidden within the upper eyelid folds. This operation can be combined with other types of aesthetic surgery.

Upper blepharoplasty cannot fundamentally change your appearance and cannot stop the aging process, but it can certainly slow it down significantly, rejuvenating the eye area and giving your gaze a fresher look.

Upper blepharoplasty can only be performed surgically; non-surgical rejuvenation methods do not achieve the same result and can only delay the time until it is needed. This is a highly individual procedure, and you should have it done for yourself, not to fulfil someone else's expectations. It is a good option for you if you are in good physical health and have a positive outlook and realistic goals for improving your appearance.

There is no single "right" age for upper blepharoplasty. When performed at a younger age, the results tend to last longer, since tissue elasticity is greater. The timing for upper blepharoplasty ultimately depends on when the patient is psychologically and aesthetically ready for the procedure. The moment is highly individual and is defined by the first signs of aging that cannot be successfully addressed with non-invasive treatments (wrinkle smoothing, fillers, mesotherapy, etc.). The operation gives longer-lasting results in patients in their early forties, but can also be performed around the age of 30 or around the age of 60.
