Facial Contouring

Procedure

Facial Contouring

This is a surgical procedure that harmonises the lower part of the face in the jawline area. It is achieved by reshaping the free edge of the lower jaw (the mandible). Certain areas are augmented using a biocompatible implant made of an inert material (silicone, Medpor, Mersilene) and/or the patient's own tissue (cartilage or bone) taken from the same area or from elsewhere. Reshaping of the mandible can also be performed by repositioning pre-mobilised bone segments and fixing them with titanium screws. The incisions are placed inside the mouth or in a fold beneath the jaw.

Price

How much does the procedure cost

The price depends on

  • The surgical technique suited to your anatomy
  • The extent and complexity of the intervention
  • The type of anaesthesia and the length of surgery
  • The required hospital stay and follow-up check-ups

The final price is set in person during the consultation, after an examination and measurements — you then receive a written quote and a detailed plan. The clinic does not work with National Health Insurance Fund referrals.

This operation can change your appearance to some degree, but performed on its own it will not drastically alter the proportions of your face.

It can only be performed surgically, in cases where non-surgical methods for reshaping the jawline cannot achieve the desired result. This is a highly individual procedure, and you should have it done for yourself, not to fulfil someone else's expectations. It is a good option for you if you are in good physical health and have a positive outlook together with realistic goals for improving your appearance.

This procedure can be performed at any time once the lower jaw has fully formed anatomically, which is typically around 18–20 years of age.
