Otoplasty

Otoplasty reshapes the ear and brings it into a more natural position relative to the head — discreetly, with the scar hidden behind the ear.

Price

How much does the procedure cost

The price depends on

  • The surgical technique suited to your anatomy
  • The extent and complexity of the intervention
  • The type of anaesthesia and the length of surgery
  • The required hospital stay and follow-up check-ups

The final price is set in person during the consultation, after an examination and measurements — you then receive a written quote and a detailed plan. The clinic does not work with National Health Insurance Fund referrals.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Ear surgery is a procedure that achieves a more harmonious shape of the ears, normalises their size and shape, and in most cases brings them closer to the skull. This is achieved by excising skin behind the ears, removing the vestigial ear muscles (which serve no function in humans), and reshaping the cartilage. The operation can also include reshaping the earlobes — reducing, enlarging or reconstructing them. This operation can be combined with other types of aesthetic surgery.

In most cases otoplasty changes your appearance to some degree, but as a stand-alone procedure it will not significantly change the overall proportions of your face.

Otoplasty can only be performed surgically. This is a highly individual procedure, and you should have it done for yourself, not to fulfil someone else's expectations. It is a good option for you if you are in good physical health and have a positive outlook together with realistic goals for improving your appearance.

Otoplasty can be performed at any time once the ear cartilage has fully formed anatomically, which is typically around 7–8 years of age.
